Recovery studio in Canggu: sauna for eight and three cold plunges

A founder fitting out a recovery studio off Jalan Batu Bolong needed a sauna for eight and three plunges that could run from 06:00 to 22:00 with walk-in guests cycling through every 30–45 minutes. The unit was a converted shophouse with three-phase supply already in place.
The sauna is 3×2.4 m in thermowood with two tiers of aspen benches, a 9 kW heater behind a stainless guard, and an oversized exhaust so the room recovers between groups. The three larch tubs each run a 1 HP chiller holding 5–8 °C through the afternoon, with cartridge filtration and ozone on each loop, and a floor that drains under all three. We wrote the hygiene routine into the handover: filter rinse twice daily, water change weekly, chiller condenser rinse monthly. Six weeks from deposit to opening, including two weeks while the owner's contractor tiled the wet area around our plumbing stubs.
