A workshop, not a warehouse

We started three years ago with a simple observation: the saunas being sold in Bali were designed for other climates and were failing in ours. So instead of importing kits we set up a workshop near Canggu where Balinese carpenters build sandwich wall panels with the foil barrier and vented gap that 85 % humidity demands, cut and fit western red cedar, thermowood and spruce, make aspen benches, and assemble larch and thermowood plunge tubs on stainless frames. The parts we do not make, we import deliberately: Harvia, Sawo and Tylö heaters and steam generators with a 1–2 year factory warranty and spare parts kept on the island, ½–1 HP chillers we have run through Bali afternoons, 8 mm tempered glass, and stainless hardware. The team is two project managers, who between them speak English, Indonesian and enough Balinese for a village meeting, an electrician who owns the SiHF, breaker and ELCB side of every job, and the workshop crew. How we work with owners, managers and operators

Every project starts with a free site survey, because a photo does not show a ninety-step staircase in Bingin or a shared 5,500 VA meter in Kerobokan. The quote that follows is itemised, cabin, heater, electrics, delivery and installation, with the PLN upgrade shown separately because it is the owner's application and cost. A 50 % deposit starts fabrication; the second payment is due when the cabin leaves the workshop; handover is a test heating together, a care sheet on the wall and a 2-year structural warranty. We are a PT PMA, so contracts and invoices work for foreign-owned villas and companies. We are honest about limits: we do not build for outdoor positions without a roof, we do not connect a 6 kW heater to a 3,500 VA supply, and we tell owners when an infrared cabin is the better answer to their meter.
